To what end? So you can see it highlighted or so the recipient sees it that
way? What do you mean by "highlighted"? Underlined? Bold text? The
standard inverse that Windows uses when you click-and-drag? What version of
Outlook? What mail editor? What format messsage are you composing? You
give so little detail that I feel I need a crystal ball.

I apologize for the lack of detail, hopefully this will assist anyone who can
address this issue.

I am replying to an email sent to me, Microsoft Outlook 2003. Basically I
have written a Reply and I am trying to highlight (in Yellow) a portion of
the text. I understand how To bold, italicize, and underline text. What I
am trying to do is just highlight a sentence in Yellow in my reply.

Hopefully this will shed some light on my original post.

Thank you for your time in assisting me.

First of all you need to ensure that your reply is in HTML (will the
recipient like that?), and (I think) that you are using Word as your Email
editor. (Not 100% sure about that one). Then right-click the tool bar and
check that the Formatting Toolbar is selected. On that bar is an icon fot
highlighting.

In searching for an answer I came across this issue and would like to extend
this thread. Here is the scenario:

I am using HTML, Office 2003 Professional, and have Formatting checked on my
toolbar - yet there is still no Highlight Tool visible for me to use. I have
also gone under Tools, Options, and already have Highlight Tool checked as
well. Alas and alack, there is no visibile Highlight icon on my toolbar.

Can you assist? Susun

I have recently discovered the same issue, the only way around it I
discovered was to write the text in MS Word, use the highlight function there
then copy and paste it - if anyone has discovered a better way then please
let me know as I have tried every menu, clicked every button, and used
Microsofts own help facility -maybe its just not an option

I have the same problem. Don't seem to have the "highlight" icon in my
toolbar. Additionally, text highlighted in Word and copied and paste in
outlook does not retain the "highlighting". HELP!

Jan,

1. Select the message you want
2. Right click -> open
3. Edit -> Edit Message

Then you can import the Highlighted text from the Word

However, this is a workaround.

The question is the following :

Is there any Highlight tool?
