How do I make my ERDs more automatic?

Hello all,

I am currently working on finding a way to automize VISIO. What I mean by
this is that I want to find a way to create some sort of database that is
connected to more than one Entity Relationship Diagram and, when I make a
change on an object on the database, I want that change to be reflected in
all ERDs that contain that particular object. These changes would be things
such as font, color, relations to other objects, etc.

Is there any way to do this? I only have basic computer skills so I need
simple explanations.

Thank you

The Visio ERD/Database Modeling solution doesn't have a public programming
interface - it's not intended to be programmatically manipulated by
developers. Additionally, the shapes are connected to , and
drawing/updated by the solution automatically, and most of the options in
them are protected to prevent the kind of color/style changing you
describe.

This is an interesting idea - but there really isn't a way for you to
circumvent the solution to accomplish it, unfortunately. Each diagram
maintains it's own connection to the database that it was created from - so
you will need to open a diagram and trigger a Database Model Refresh to
allow the drawing to get the latest updates from its connected database
separately.
