How do I scan multipage docs thru my ADF scanner at one stroke?

I regularly scan 10 page documents through my auto-doc-feed scanner but each
page scanned needs several key-strokes to activate the scan of that
particular page. I have seen other people scan a long multi-page-doc by
in-putting one set of key strokes (drop-down 'insert'>'from camera or
scanner' etc) and activate a multi-page scan without further input. How do
they do it ?

This will be a setting in your scanner software--nothing to do with Word.
