How do I use small letters in dates or numbers like 1st or 2nd

When I type dates, I would like to use 1st or 2nd with small letters raised
following the number. How do I do this in Publisher.

Format the "st", "nd", "rd", or "th" with superscript.

word does this automatically, and I was hoping publisher would do the same.
