How do I view sender's email address before opening the email?

I currently use Outlook Express (OE) but want to switch to Microsoft Outlook
(MO). However, whereas in OE I could check ( or view) a sender's email
address before opening the email (to avoid viruses, I always delete, without
opening, emails received from unknown senders) by right clicking on the
message in the inbox and selecting properties, this 'properties' option does
not seem to be available in MO (it seems that one has to open the email
first). Please advise.

Right click on an item and choose "Options". You should be able to see the
header in that dialog box prior to opening the item

I can right-click on an email in the Inbox and scroll to options to see the
mail header.

Thank you. It's unfortunate though, that the sender's address isn't more
readily accessible, as it is in Outlook Express.
