how do you turn off compability mode

I have my resume in compability mode and can't edit? How do I turn this mode
off or edit my document?

Compatibility mode simply means that you have opened a doc format document.
The document being locked for editing is usually an indication that the
trial version of Word 2007 that you are using has expired.

Compatibility mode doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you can
edit documents. It only prevents you from using new features that aren't
supported in older versions.

If you can't edit, one of these conditions may be true:

- The document may be protected, such as for forms. On the Review tab, click
the Protect Document button and choose Restrict Formatting and Editing to
display the task pane. If you see a Stop Protection button at the bottom of
the pane, click it.

- You may have neglected to activate your copy of Office. Click the round
Office button in the upper left corner, click Word Options, choose the
Resources tab, and click the Activate button.

- Your copy of Word (and Office) may be a trial copy that has expired. If
so, you need to pay for a retail copy, or use one of the free alternatives
described at http://www.agentjim.com/MVP/PowerPoint/PowerPointForFree.html.
