Hello everyone,
Can someone please explain to me the working of “Split in-progress
tasks”?
Let us assume that we not levelling the Resources neither we are using
the Update Project option. The following is the scenario:
• Project Start Date: 11th October 2008
• Calendar: Standard – 7hrs, Thu-Fri weekend etc.
• Project Structure:
o Level 0: Tasks
o Level1: T1 … Resource R1
o Level2: T2 … Resource R1, FS Predecessor T1, Duration 5 days
o Level3: T3 … Resource R1, FS Predecessor T2, Duration 5 days
• Actuals:
o T1: Actual Start and Actual Finish on time.
o T2: Actual Start on time but 75% complete.
o T3: Actual Start before the start of T2 (Scheduled Finish Date)
Following the above scenario I was expecting a split in T3 but it
didn’t split.
Can someone explain me how does it work?
Actually I want to learn in what scenario task split works (talking
about only Split in-progress option)?
Thank you
Best regards
