How to change the 'th', 'st' and 'rd' to font size of text

B

Bren

I type a lot of reports and dislike the 'th','st'and 'rd' appearing in a
smaller font size than the rest of the text. I want to know how to change
these to match the rest of the font size.

eg 10th 2nd and 1st

The best way is to prevent that from happening. In Word 2003 or
earlier, go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options; in Word 2007 go to Office
button > Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options. In either
version, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab of the dialog and
uncheck "Ordinals (1st) with superscript".

The fix any that already exist, select the small characters and press
Ctrl+Shift+= which is the shortcut for toggling the superscript font
format on and off. (Or you can open the Font dialog and uncheck
"Superscript".)

Go to the Options and find the two places where there's a checkbox for
that. It is, unaccountably, on by default.

If you state your version of Word, someone will tell you exactly where
to find them.

The automatic superscript is an autoformat as you type option and can be
turned off for new documents. For the rest you can use replace to replace
superscript with normal text.
