How to Delete Duplicate Contacts Folder

I transferred old contacts folder to Vista on new computer. I was able to
delete the move folders from the old personal file and then delete the
duplicate folder.

But I am unable to find where I can delete the duplicate Contacts FOLDER so
that Outlook does not default to the empty Contacts folder. Data File
Management does not show this.

Thanks.

You cannot delete default folders. You should transfer you data into your
default folders if you want them there.

I did try to do that by copying the contacts into the default contacts
folder, and guess what happened. Another folder was created by Outlook to
receive the copied contacts! Now I have three Contacts folders: default,
from old computer, and new one. When you say transfer, I assume you mean
transfer, not copy. How do I transfer? Actually what I did when changing
from old computer to new computer was to copy the old Outlook files onto a CD
and then copied from the CD. It worked with the mail but not with the
contacts. The instructions provided by Microsoft are for duplicate contacts
which are of no concern to me. I am talking about the folder itself;
duplicate contacts are ok with me. Thanks.

Russ, I have the problem solved. What I did was to open the new Contacts
folder and then dragged each contact into the default Contacts folder, one by
one. There were 102, so it was a tedious task. But it worked.

Thanks for trying.

You don't copy the folder. You copy the contents.
