how to retrieve lost taks

How do I restored all the tasks that are lost? When trying to create a new
task, and saving it it does not show up on the screen it also disapear.

Are you perhaps filtering your view? View > Current View. Try changing it to
Simple View to see if that brings up your missing tasks.
