I need to restore my address Book in Outlook-2003: (11.8010.6568)

D

Dick

I had a nasty software crash today. It was necessary for Dell to help me get
it back up. However in the end result, I had to go through the Wizard to get
my e-mail re-established and now have Outlook running.

The bad news is that I have lost all the data in my Calendar and my Outlook
Address Book. However, I have another user where I have the Calendar and
Address Book Data. I'm still grabbing at straws and not sure where I am going
or how to get there.

Is there a way to get this data into the new Outlook set up?

PS. I have a backup copy of my address book on a CD. I think the file is
called backup.pst

You should clarify what you mean.
There is no address book in Outlook.
Are you saying that your Contacts Folder has no data?
If so, then you need to retrieve your previous Outlook Data File.
If not, then you simply need to configure your Outlook Address Book.

It is indeed my Contacts List and the only data in it I have added in just
the last few minutes.

Then you need to find your previous Outlook data file and open or reuse it.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

It took a bit of slow progress but I have my addresses restored.

One thing is bothering me though . . . probably require a new discussion.
Now when I click on the Outlook Icon in the Quick Start Bar. I get an Outlook
error "Operation Failed and it requires me to click the icon a second time to
get Outlook started. Bummer.

Thank you heaps for your help.
