Well Terry, if you go to Cross Pen website you'll find this:

Note: The Cross iPen product line was discontinued in October of 1999. Cross
will continue to offer warranty service for as long as replacement supplies
last.

So that puts a slant on your idea. Also everything I've read on it makes it
appear that there would still be a lot of cut & paste due to the special
applications used in order for the hand recognition apps to work.

Steve -- Terry is not talking about the Cross i-pen. He is talking about the
fingersystems i-pen, which is a current product.

Terry -- I have the i-pen pro, with the version 1.4 driver. I like the
integration with Onenote, but I am having a lot of problems with the driver,
period. It doesn't seem friendly with Windows XP. Version 1.3 (which came
with the pen) crashed XP repeatedly. I then got version 1.4 from the web.
It behaves much better, but still has a lot of problems. When I remove the
pen from the cradle and apply it to the pad I often loose my 802.11
connection, for example. Strange stuff. I will probably remove i-pen from
my system, even though I bought it just for use with Onenote, and it IS good
in that context. As always with drivers, your experience may differ from
mine. I am running XP, SP1. I do not have SP2 installed.
