Ignore completed tasks when leveling resources

R

Richard Lytle

I am updating my project plan (due to schedule changes and addtional tasks)
and need to relevel my resources. However, I would like to have tasks that
are 100% complete to be ignored during leveling. (In other words, why would
I want schedule a resource's time to work on a completed task?)

Is this possible (without actually deleting completed tasks from my work
plan)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Richard,

If you mark the tasks as 100% (apply the tracking table and make sure they
are marked 100% complete )they will not be touched by the resource leveling
command.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Richard,

Moreover, you should not have a conflict between work done and work
remaining.
Work done has happened in the past, work planned is from now on.
After introducing the actuals, one should (a) clear leveling then (b)
reschedule uncompleted work till today or later (Tools, Tracking, Update
Project).

Thanks Jan. That's actually the function I needed; I was going about it wrong.

Thanks for your help.
