Imported Emails Show Wrong Received Date

I just installed Outlook 2003. After importing my emails from OE, I noticed
that about half the emails now show the date of import as the date they were
received. Any idea how to fix this or avoid it? It's strange that it only
affected some of the emails.

Don't import from Outlook, export from Outlook Express.

That is good advice. I only wish Outlook had provided it before I imported
my email. Do you have a suggestions for fixing this problem? I have been
adding new emails to my folders, so deleting everything and starting over is
not an option.

Is there a way to export from OE and then have Outlook identify the
duplicates? Of course, because the received dates will be different , I am
skeptical that the emails will show up as duplicates. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

Cursory testing indicates that you'll get duplicates. Outlook doesn't have
much (if any) built-in duplication detection and it's perfectly happy to
have any number of items in it that are all the same. There are third party
tools that can detect and clean up duplicates. the Slipstick site has
mention of several.
