Inbox greyed out

Hello, we're having a problem with the Inbox on an XP machine that runs
Office 2003. The Inbox is always greyed out, and there's a box saying that
the Inbox can't be displayed. No other folder has this problem. You can see
all the sent items, drafts, outbox, etc......

I can log this same person onto my machine and set up her email here....and
there is no problem. It looks like it's something wrong on that machine. We
have re-installed Office 2003 a couple times, but it comes up greyed out
everytime.

Does anyone have an idea of what's causing this?

What kind of e-mail are we talking about here? Are you connected to an
Exchange mailbox or ISP POP3 server? Have you tried creating a new Outlook
profile on the problem machine and resetting up the account?

We are connected to an Exchange server. We have reinstalled Office on this
machine, but the Inbox remains greyed out.

I would try creating a new Outlook profile on this machine and resetting up
the account to see if that resolves the problem.
