Insert html fragment

I wish to include a metatag using fragment tool in publisher, when I insert
metatag
(supplied by google for verification of website) it will not allow me to
place it in
<head> section. I have tried publish view......open source edit and save and
this is
ignored by publisher when finished. It would be useful if I could make
addition to
html in this way .Any ideas .
please.

You can edit HTML in any text editor. You don't need to use Publisher.

Try opening the HTML document with Wordpad, - just select "all files" in the
filetype
box and paste the metatag in the same way you'd paste anything else.
