Inserting Clipart

We are running Server 2003, XP at the desktops, and Publisher 2003. We installed Publisher on the server and 'pushed' it to the workstations. When we try to search clipart on the computer it hangs up or locks up the workstations. Should we have done a local install? When we search online there is never a problem. Also we are not having this problem with Office 2003.

Yes, you should. Publisher absolutely detests being run from a network
location.

Thanks Cerridwen - but it is not being run from the server. My IT person is telling me it was assigned to the desktops via active directory. I have checked and the clipart folder is on all of our C drives. Your explanation would be easier since we are having the same problem at every workstation

"We installed Publisher on the server" - that indicates that it's being
installed remotely. Publisher hates that and should be installed - and run -
locally.
