Hi.
Is there a way to install access 2000 on a PC that has office2003 on it (with
access 2003)?
Yes. Install Access 2000 first, then install all of the service packs,
including SP-3 (this is very, very important in order to prevent a nasty
bug), then install Office 2003, then install Office 2003 SP-1. Don't allow
the installation program to uninstall Access 2000 when it detects this
application on the workstation, and don't allow the installation application
to install in the same directory as Access 2000.
There are ways to configure the workstation so that one version of Access
will be the preferred version when the user double-clicks on an MDB file, but
the default will be Access 2003, since it was the last version installed.
But remember that Access 2003 can open, edit and save in Access 2000
database format. About the only capability it doesn't have is to create an
MDE file in Access 2000 database format from the menu, but that can be
achieved with VBA code.
HTH.
