Master / Subproject Calculations

I have a master project with 11 subprojects with links between the eleven
subprojects. The Master is approx. 2600 lines with 200 links.

I recently noticed that when a predecessor in a subproject changes the
successors in other projects don't update. They only update if I open the
individual subproject.

Why won't the master project recalculate even though it is set to auto in
Tools, Options, Calculate?

I think that you need to make sure that all the projects have
tools / options /view tab / automatically accept new external data
checked. Then all the subprojects need to be expanded to open them before
anything will occur.

Master project still does not calculate. By the way. This is Project 2000
and not project 2003. Perhaps that is an issue. I'll try on 2003 but this
probably doesn't work either.

Actually, Project 2002 and beyond do better with these links than 2000 does
so you may have some luck there. You did expand the subprojects right? If
you don't then they won't recalc.

Thanks Jack,
The problem is that in Project 2000 circular references can be created
without receiving an error message from Project. When I open the same
project in Project 2003 I receive an error message when I expand the summary
/ detail entries. Just had to recreat links in Project 2003 to resolve the
problem.
