"Messaging interface has returned unknown error"? What is this?

When trying to send messages, I get the following error message:"Messaging
interface has returned an unknown error. Please restart Outlook." After I
click "Send" two more times, it is finally sent. Any thoughts on how to stop
this pop up? Thank you.
