"Microsoft Project has stopped working"

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and Project Professional 2003. After I
open a file, even a new file, I get a message "Microsoft Project has stopped
working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I've
uninstalled and reinstalled both Project and Office, but the problem
presists. Would somebody please help me?

If you are running under a 64bit OS, then verify the install directory is
"C:\Program Files (x86)" for 32 bit applications such as Project 2003.

Right click on the Project2003 icon and try running as administrator.

Have you installed all Service Packs for Project2003?

I have this setup, and I occassionally get this error. However, it usually
self corrects if I wait about 10 seconds. This is about a 1% error for me --
about 1 time in 100 file opens, if that.

It''s software; it''s not allowed to win.

Thanks for replying, Jim. I'm running 32 bit and have installed all service
packs. When I right click on the icon I don't have the option of running as
administrator. Any other ideas?
