"MS Office Project has stopped Working"

After posting a schedule to our SharePoint server; several members of our
team get the following message:

"Microsoft Office Project has stopped working. A problem caused the program
to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if
a solution is available."

Our office does not have a MS Project server. I am running Project 2007 Pro
SP1 on a Vista Ultimate SP1 PC. I can open the file on SharePoint while
others in the office get the aforementioned error message. I could not find
any reference to this on TechNet and it is annoying as all....; does anyone
out there have any idea why this happened and have a possible fix?

Other memebers of the team have the same setup as me, while some have 2007
Pro SP1, Windows Home Premium SP1. The file is saved in Project 2000-2003
format as serveral members have Project 2003.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

When you say Posting in Sharepoint I am assuming your uploaded the Project
MPP to Sharepoint.

Do you have Check-in check out feature active ?

Have you tried saving the file on your hard disk and uploading it again as a
different name to see if others can view that ?

Right, the .mmp is uploaded to SharePoint. Yes, we do have a checkout
feature and it does not seem to matter we still get the error whether we
check out the file or not. I have tried renaming the file and uploading it,
same results.

So it means accept you nobody else can open any other MPP file which is
uploaded to sharepoint.

Even if it was checked-out to you it should open as a Read-only.

Can they upload a mpp file and then view it in sharepoint ?

Might want to disable and then enable check-in checkout feature for the
project documents folder and see if that works ?

wasonamit, I found a solution or workaround for my problem, here it is:

While I am not sure of all the implications to this fix, it does seem to work.

Open Project 2007
Go to the tab for Tools, select Options then the Interface Tab.
In the User Interface section Uncheck the box for "Use internal IDs to
match different-language or renamed Organizer items between projects"
select OK and close all menus.
