Multiple Predecessors

I have multiple predecessors to an activity both with FS relationships to the
sucessor but the earlies finish is driving the sucessor date instead of the
latest finishing predecessor?

Is this a bug or setting issue? I'm using 2003

Thanks

DMH,
I'd start by going to our MVP webpage at,
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm, and taking a look at FAQ 50 -
Successor's start date is different from it's predecessors finish date.

Hope that helps.

That sounds very strange. Have you pressed the F9 key to see if it
recalculates?

The next thing I'd try is to see if you can reproduce the behavior. Add a new
task with the same dependencies. If it behaves differently then look more at
the first task. Perhaps it has an actual start associated with it? Even if 0%
complete an actual start date will cause the task to be anchored in place and
no longer respond to changes in predecessors.

Then I'd try deleting some of the dependencies. What happens when you delete
the dependency on the early task?

If the second task behaves the same then I'd think you have a bug of some
sort.

I am assuming you are not linking to any summary tasks. Those can be an
issue as well. And finally I expect that the task is set to be As Soon As
Possible.
