My computer freezes and needs restarted everytime I try to open Word!

I am using Word 2000. I have used the program for about 3 years. I noticed problems with Word about 2 months ago. Everytime I went to the print preview screen, a notice would come up saying that there wasn't enough memory. Then recently, when I have tried to pull up word, a notice comes up that says, "The system is dangerously low in resources! Would you like to terminate the following application? Winword (not responding). Also, I have also gotten a notice that says "server caused a general protectoin fault" I have no idea what is wrong. My excel works fine as well as the other applications. I have tried unstalling the program and loading it back on but the same thing occurs. Also, I have cleared my computer so that it has as much space and memory capacity as possible. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions! Thanks, Becky

Try renaming normal.dot to normalold.dot. Restart Word. If the problem has
gone away, it was a corruption in the template. You can retrieve settings,
styles etc from normalold using the Organiser.

Failing that, try re-installing Word.
