I can't type on my word documents, and i dont know why, at the bottom of the
screen it says, this modification is not allowed because the document is
locked, how do I get it unlocked?

Assuming the document hasn't been protected in any way, this message means
either that you haven't activated Word (Help | Activate Product) or that it
is a trial version that has expired.

Hi Jean,

try this,ý
open MS Word, from tools menu select options then security tab then if you
can see a button ýwith name "Unprotect Document" select it
and i hope it will not ask you for a password.ý
ý ý
if all of this not worked or if the button "Protect Document" instead of
"Unprotect Document" try ýthis,ý
while MS Word is closed, search for "Normal.dot" file on your hard drive,
then rename that file ýý(cause word will build another one automatically -
or you can do it manually - if it not found, and ýrename better than
delete,so you can restore it if you have any problem).ý
If you found more than one file, then just rename the one from your user
profile folder

hope it help
