No Printer Selection Printing from Print Preview in Project

When I have a project up and I go to the print preview, if I try and
print from within the print preview window the ability to select a
different printer is not available ( greyed out ). If I go to File
and Print, I can change the printer with no problem at all. Is this a
limitation in Project because it can not reformat the preview right
from within the preview window or is there something I am missing?

it's a project thing .. don't really know why but there's nothing wrong with
your install - we all suffer from the same limitation (AFAIK - if anyone has
an alternative please let me know too)

Hi Steve,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Project uses the printer driver to set up the print preview, with margins,
paper size, etc coming from the driver. Thus when you print from the
preview it uses the default printer driver. However, if you go via
File/Print, it will assume you're happy with what you will get whatever
printer you choose whatever way it is set up. I would always advise going
to Proint Preview first and then print when you're happy with that output.

Hi Mike

i guess the inconsistency with the other MS products is the "problem" here
mainly .... in Excel / Word etc ... you can pretty much go anyway to get to
the same place - project is a bit more fussy!
