non-working time not printing on Gantt chart

P

PaulR

I usually print Gantt charts 30x42 inches onto an HP inkjet plotter. The
non-working time are shaded (vertical bars on the Gantt). This in, until
today when the non-woprking time does not print shaded (or show up in print
preview)

The only way I can get it to print is to print to 5x5 A4 sheets.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

Hi Paul,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I suspect your Gantt chart scale has been changed. The non-working time
will only show if the timescale has full days showing. Try clicking the
Zoom In button to see the effect. If the shading is still not visible,
right click the timescale and select Timescale... Then, in the dialog,
select the Non-working time tab and ensure that the Colour and Shading are
set, and the radio button on the left is not set to Do not draw.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the prompt reply. My timescale is showing full days in the
bottom tier (M T W T F S S) , weeks in the middle tier (13 Mar '06), and none
in the top tier. Zooming the view does not affect print and preview (ie;
non-working time shaded on the screen does not appear in preview or printed)

Non-working tab is set to the default of silver, shaded, standard project
calendar, and draw 'behind task bars' radio button.

Regards,
Paul

Paul, did you try changing the non-working time settings? Then have a look
at FAQ Item: 44, Printing Problems. FAQs, companion products and other

Dear Mike

I hope you can help?
I have this problem too. The non working time (weekends and Christmas holiday) does not print as grey scale although it is viewed as grey on the MS project version but it doesn't show when I pdf it or when it is actually printed. Is this because it is a vast scale? The programme duration is 5 and half months showing days so you can imagine how long it is, so we had to print at A1 size for us to read the programme but still does not show non working time of weekends and Christmas holiday.
