O2003 selectively send/receiving

Hi all!
I and 2 of my friends/clients have a clean install and SP1
of O2003.
All three of us have 2 or more email accounts with which we
work.
All of us are experiencing the fact that 9 times out of 10
Outlook will only send/receive mail our mail if we choose
each account individually. The 10th time comes all too
frequently, where nothing sends or downloads.

If we hit the general send/receive, the server is
"unavailable," it claims the server doesn't recognize our
log-in, or worse, there is no error message at all.

The new computer, Dell installed, Mcafee firewall settings
are allow Outlook incoming/outgoing access, as does the
WinXP firewall. Oh - We can send/receive fine with OE, but
I won't let anyone use that. Or, better, I recommend
strongly that they not and if they do don't come screaming
to me when they have virus and spyware trouble. I digress.

The closest I can come to this in the KB is BUG: You cannot
send and receive Internet e-mail messages in Outlook 2003,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;817964
which is TOTALLY unhelpful, as it simply indicates
Microsoft has "confirmed that this is bug." Well, thank
you very much.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,
Christine
