office outlook misbehaving

since getting new computer and vista I have had endless trouble with
tempramental windows office outlook 2003, Really slow to load the next
message after deleting one. slow to move to my other mail box ( I have 4
email accounts). sometimes not opening mail and just giving me the Not
Responding message and having to shut down and reopen.
I have run all diagnostics and they say all is good. I have run my cd and
repaired the program rather than completely uninstall and reinstall.
The only thing that works like clockwork is the junk mail that rushes in to
the junk folder.
I am using MS office outlook because windows mail on Vista will not accept
hotmail accounts. both are microsoft programs so why are they not compatible.
Can this be remedied somehow?
please someone help a very frustrated person taking 10 times what it should
to do email. thank you in advance

Solution 1: Rename or delete outcmd.dat, extend.dat, views.dat and
frmcache.dat while Outlook is closed. Outlook will recreate these files as
needed. These files are likely hidden so use Windows Explorer to unhide
hidden files/folders before you search for them.

Solution 2: Create a new profile. No need to delete the old profile just
yet, just make a new one to see if this resolves anything.

Solution 3: Disable Outlook Setup Add-in (Cyberlink). This is the Instant
Office add-in on Dell computers that have Media Direct installed. This
add-in is responsible for converting meeting requests to recurring meetings.
Also check for any Add Ins that are not compatible with Outlook 2003, such as
Plaxo.

There are some other potential issues that may slow Outlook down as well:

Instant messenger. The fix is to disable the link to Instant Messenger on
Outlook's Tools, Options, Other tab.

Network connectivity issues when you are using mapped network drives,
including slow networks or inaccessible mapped drives. The fix is to uncheck
the box for the dialog to always ask whether to open/save the attachments or
disable mapped drives.

Alternative input support in Office 2003. This allows you to use speech or
handwriting instead of typing. Disable alternative input following
instructions in How to turn off the speech recognition and the handwriting
recognition features in Office 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823586

Other options are to archive, run disk checking tools like chkdsk, scandisk
and defrag. There is also the option of running detect and repair from the
help menu. If a PST is in use, run the inbox repair tool.

health check says all ok.

I have been working on this for hours and it is still misbehaving and Not
Responding.
cleared out most of my messages incase the box was over loaded. many put
into the personal folder out of the In Box.

I have tried to down load windows live but it will not complete. I have a
windows live ID already.
What can I do now??
thanks for any more help
