OL cached mode ost file location

Is there a registry key or some other way to remotely find out where a
particular person has their ost file stored. I'd like to find out how many
people are storing this on a network share, for example.

That is not directly retrievable from the registry. The location depends on
the name of the mail profile and the path is stored as binary and not as
string. How about turning this around; do a scan on your network for
ost-files. Its location and/or ownership would indicate who this ost-file
belongs to.
