OneNote:option to not delete other files in a OneNote as one may .

I think OneNote should be a little more careful with handling files. I
noticed that when I delete a folder in OneNote it also deletes the folder off
of my harddrive.

I created a new folder in OneNote and placed some other files into that
folder, let's say some program code, and then deleted the folder again
through OneNote. What I was hoping for was for OneNote to warn me that the
folder contains some files other than those associated with OneNote, and that
by deleting this folder from OneNote you are deleting all contents of this
folder on your harddrive.

Furthermore, another option which I think might come in handy is to say
someone wanted to delete the folder, but not the notes.

Hi,

You also have the option of "closing" sections instead of deleting them.
When you right click on a section in your notebook and select "close", it
simply allows you to remove the section from your OneNote notebook view. The
file will still remain in your My Documents > My Notebook folder.

thanks,
christina

Awesome, thanks, that was very useful.

Knowing me, however, I may accidentally click the Delete the button for a
variety of reasons. I still think it would be helpful if the prompt was
available. Or an option in Settings/Preferences that'll denote "Deleting
Section/Page/Folder will remove from harddrive."

But this should suffice my needs. Thanks. :D
