OneNote Screen Clippings are Blank

When I take a Screen Clipping in OneNote it comes back as a pure black
rectangle. The oddest part of this is that shortly after installing
OneNote I tried the screen clipping feature and it worked well. The
screen hazed over and mouse cursor drew a bright rectangle around what
I would like to clip. Now, the screen does not haze or change at all,
and as I mentioned, any clip I take (though the correct size) is just
pure black.

After I noticed the issue I decided to go to Office Update. It did
think I had applications that needed updated so I continued through
the process. After that it worked again, but only for a few hours,
and it has returned to taking blank clippings. Any ideas are welcome.
Thank you.

I am using XP Pro SP2.

Thomas,

I haven't heard of this problem before, as far as I recall.

So, while the problem might be down to OneNote, I wonder about other
possible causes too.

You say you are using XP Pro SP2.

Is this a new machine? Recently upgraded?

Have you had any recent other oddities on that computer? Any other
display problems?

Have you checked recently for malware/adware/spyware?

Thomas,
Have you updated your video drivers lately? I haven't heard of this being a
problem with screen clips from OneNote, but I do know it can affect many
other screen related problems. (And, considering that most video card
companies put out new drivers regularly, it's not a bad thing to check
anyway/)
