OneNote beta says I should be able to press the Windows/Start key + S and
copy an area from an internet page that will automatically be pasted into
OneNote. Pressing the keys does nothing. Suggestions?

FG shared these words of wisdom:
OneNote beta says I should be able to press the Windows/Start
key + S and copy an area from an internet page that will
automatically be pasted into OneNote. Pressing the keys does
nothing. Suggestions?

Windows key + S opens the "clipping tool" for making screenshots.
When pressing the keys the screen gets dimmed and the cursor becomes a
rectangle.
Drawing a rectangle on the screen cuts out this rectangle and pastes
it to a new ON page in the category "Unfiled ...".

Seems you are mixing the clipping feature with the webpage copy
feature.
This fires if one clicks on the OneNote icon in the toolbar of IE.

Thanks for your reply and I do understand what it is supposed to do, however,
when I press Window + S the screen does not dim and the cursor does not
change either.

Do you have the OneNote tray program running? Check task manager,
processes to see if OneNoteM.exe is running or not. If not, see if it
works once it's running. You can activate it via Tools, Options, Other,
"Place OneNote icon in the notification area of the taskbar".
