CHANGING FAIL OVER CLUSTER TO NLB

Hello:

I am getting below mentioned error when I try to open an XML file generated
through a proprietary project portfolio management software:

"The resource is assigned outside the original dates for task 60 Project
Direction in project "Empty Project." The duration of this fixed-duration
task will change to accomodate the resource assignment."

The way I open the XML project file is, right click on the XML file, select
Open with Microsoft Project, select "As a new project," select "Finish" and
there you see the above mentioned error message. Once I say OK button, MS
Project 2003 will open the project and will display normally. On row or line
60, all I see is a completed Task without any children or sub-tasks.

I would like to see this error message go away and will appreciate if anyone
has thoughts about this.

Thanks in advance!

If the task is fixed duration, then the assigned hours of work for the
resource on that task must be completed within the task's duration otherwise
you will get that message. What are the task and assignment details in the
xml file?

One alternative is to set the task as fixed units. From what you have said
so far, I would look to the project portfolio management software to see
what it creates in the xml file.
