Opening Word initialisation very slow - How to speed up

Apart from Word, all other Office 2007 applications open immediately.
However on opening Word it goes through the initialisation proicess that is
very slow - up to two or three minutes. I never had this problem with
earlier Office versions.

If I run Repair, Word will open immediately on the next use, but it
reverts to requiring the initialisation process on subsequent use.

I am using WinXP with a fast processor and lots of memory

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Peter.

I do not have Word 2003 on this computer although I output all Word
doxuments in the earlier format as most people are unable to read .docx files.
