option for the junk email to delete spam that is older than x day.

It would be useful to have an option in the junk email options to automaticly
delete junk emails that have been in the junk email folder more than x days.
This allows for the best of both worlds auto deletion of junk emails, and the
chance to check recent junk emails for a false positives, (good emails).

That option is already there. Right-click the Junk E-mail folder, choose
Properties, and switch to the AutoArchive tab. Set the archiving to either
move the items to Deleted Items after the desired interval or permanently
delete them.

Hi Sue,

thank you for your reply, you are indeed correct, the only problem is
auto-archive is something that I stay completely away from as the standard
configuration deposits email pst's on the users computer no good from a
backup perspective and security. But I will have a play, as I support more
than 2000 outlook users over 100 companies and this is something that
requires a solution, so thanks again.

Are you using Exchange server? Use mailbox manager to empty the junk (and
deleted items) automatically.
