Outlook 03: Flags should be reminders outside the default folders

In Outlook (2000 and 2003), You can set due dates for follow-up flags on
email messages in any folder, but Outlook will only generate reminders for
flags in the default folders (Inbox, etc.). For people who sort their
messages into folders as the mail arrives (either manually or using
rules/filters), this is very bad. To these users, there often seems to be no
rhyme or reason as to when a flag reminder will work and when it will fail,
possibly causing them to miss an important deadline.

The best solution would be to enable reminders for flags in ALL folders
under Personal folders. However, a workaround would be to include a warning
message somewhere that notifies the user that any flags in folders they have
created will not generate reminders. This warning could be a pop-up that
shows up the first time a user sets a flag reminder (with an option to
continue to display the warning or not). Alternatively, the warning could
appear only when you set a flag in a folder where reminders will not be set.
This warning could include a suggestion to create a task from the messgae by
dragging it to the tasks folder. It would also be useful to be able to
create a task from an email without having to close the message to drag it to
the tasks folder.

Perhaps, but in the meantime, there's always

Our warning flags work fine and I have, as of now, 21 folders that are
filtered by rules. Are your folders placed UNDER the Inbox hierarchy? If
they are, then it should work fine.
