outlook 2002

Has anyone ever had this problem?

When trying to delete an email (not every email but I cannot determine the
similarities between the emails that cause this problem) in outlook 2002 the
machine locks up, the screen goes black and I have to power down and restart
before I can do anything.

I have no clue as to the cause of this and cannot find anyone who has seen
this before.

Check your application event viewer for any Office related errors
(specifically eventID and source).
What methods have you used to try to delete the email?
If you use a PST, have you tried running a repair on it (scanpst.exe)?
