outlook 2003 automatically changes from POP3 to exchange

After upgrading office 2000 to office 2003 some of our outlook users are
being automatically being set up on exchange even though we have entered in
and created a pop3 account.

Just delete the Exchange account if you don't have Exchange.

We tried that. we deleted all profiles and accounts. Started a new account
with pop3 settings and then when the user connected to the network it
automatically changed it to exchange. It is very weird. I have never seen
anything like it. And it has affected mre than one user.
