Outlook email reply original message text problem

I have Outlook/Word set such that my replies include the original message
text. Sometimes when I click on reply, the original message text comes up
somewhat scrambled and some lines are missing in Word. When I view the reply
that I've sent, I can see the missing lines, but the order of the text is
still quite scrambled.

What can I do to rectify this problem? I've tried the Detect & Repair on
both Outlook & Word (I'm running 2000), as well as checking for updates on
the Microsoft website, but this issue still persists.

I also have a customer that is experiencing this issue. Outlook 2003 is
configured to use Word as her e-mail editor and although the text is
scrambled on her workstation, the text does not appear as scrambled on the
recipient end. The message also appears "normal" on the exchange server
(thus leading me to believe it is something on the workstation side of
things).

Any thoughts are appreciated!
