Outlook Express 6-compact folders

Today, when I run compact all folders in microsoft outlook 6, a pop up box
appear and show the folders "compacting". I also note another pop up box
"copying" and at another instance a pop up box "deleting"

What are the folders "copying" and "deleting" ?

Please advise.

PS: previously, when I run compact folders, I do not see the "copying" and
"deleting" pop up boxes appearing.
