Outlook hangs up after mail search download

After getting my e-mails when I first sign in to microsoft office outlook
2003, the program hangs up.
Windows xp professional is the operating system

Look in Tools | Options | Mail setup tab ... if the last box labelled "Hang
up when finished ..." is checked then uncheck it.
