Outlook opens a new session instead of a new message when I click.

I always get a new Outlook session opening when I try to click on an embedded
email address on websites or emails. I'm using Outlook 2003. I'm having to
cut and paste the email address into a manually opened new Outlook message to
enter the addressee.
