Outlook + PKI - unexpected problem with hash/encryption algorithms

Hi,
Recently I met with strange plague of not working PKI certificate
under Microsoft Outlook. The scenario is following: people have own
certificates and use it since some time. Unexpectedly they cannot
encrypt and decrypt emails, in spite of that nothing was changed. When
I removed assignment of certificate to email account and next I
assigned this same certificate to this same email account a effect was
that hash/encrypt functions were MD5/RC2, instead of earlier
SHA-1/3DES. More surprised is that there ware not SHA-1/3DES algorithms
in combo box at all. It looked like Windows loose their ability to
support strong cryptography algorithms...
I tried to find something on the web, but without success. Did anyone
meet similar problem? And maybe found a solution?

I would be very graceful for any suggestions.

Best regards,
Adam Bukla
