Outlook Reminders and Exchange Time Zones

I'm in a large organization spread throughout all time zones. Our Exchange
Servers are in the Central Time Zone, I am in eastern time zone. To duplicate
you must create an appointment (cannot be all day event) in your colleagues
calendar and invite 1 or more attendees.

When my colleague creates a new appointment in my calendar I receive the
reminder. However, the reminder indicates the meeting is an hour earlier than
she scheduled. The calendar entry is correct, it is only this reminder that
is incorrect.

This reminder is sent from the Exchange Server using it's current time zone.
The reminder even states that "All times listed are in the following time
zone: (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)".

The server should (be smart enough to) send this reminder to me in the
correct time zone. How do I fix that?
