Whatever I did - it worked! (caveat) - for now.
I uninstalled the beta WDS and I think the previous WDS went with it - but
I'm not sure at this point - having tried so many things that I rarely do
only 1 at a time :-0
So much for "The Scientific Method"
Then I reopened Outlook 2007 and didn't give in right away to being
requested to reinstall WDS - but when I found that meant I had no advanced
search, I reinstalled the beta and - lo & behold - it didn't work!
But wait! - after I rebooted & did a search for "received this week" - I
finally got accurate results (apparently, the other option is no reults, just
an error message
So, my conclusion is that there's really good odds that the program works
but gets corrupted easily and that will be fixed before the final release.
