Outlook sends multiple copies of a single email

My Outlook 2007 sometimes resends an idividual email multiple times (so far
up to 12 times) until I delete it from my outbox. I have run diagnostics and
downloaded the latest updates. I am using XP Pro operating system. This
does not happen all of the time but typically when there are attachments.
Any help will be appreciated.

If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable this
integration and try again.

I give up, I've tried disabling the outgoing email A?V but it still does the
same thing.

Did you completely uninstall the AV program and then reinstall without the
mail scanning feature? Some AV programs, while saying the mail scanning is
disabled, do not actually disable it enough to stop affecting Outlook.
