over allocating resources

Will Project warn me, at the time I assign a resource, that it is
overallocated?

Hi Pete,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Not directly, but if you split the screen and put a resource view in the
lower screen like the Resource Sheet, the resource name will turn red if it
is overallocated.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

I read this in a post here somewhere, if you open the assign resource icon,
and then filter by the group of people that are available/qualified to be
assigned to your task, project will only show you the people that are not
scheduled for work for the duration of that task... I hope this helps you or
at least give you an idea on what to search for here to help find what I read
about the same subject...
