Paragraph Sytles Shown

I am working with WORD 2003. Somewhere along the line, I have
changed something that has caused pararagraph markers to be shown and
a frame at the lefthand side of screen that says "Normal" adjacent to
each line within the text body.

How may I change this back to NORMAL w/o the paragraph markings?

You can delete normal.dot. Word will generate a new normal.dot. I
would save3 the current normal.dot to another folder just to play it
safe.

Click the paragraph symbol (the backwards P) on whichever toolbar it
appears.
