I am having problems getting the “Physical % Complete†column to roll-up
properly from Detail Tasks to Summary Tasks.
First, a little background - I am using “Physical % Complete†to calculate
earned value and I have baselined my schedule. In some places in my
schedule, I have tasks defined at the fifth outline level; so I have many
sub-Summary Tasks to roll-up.
When I enter actuals for the Detail Tasks and manually enter values into the
“Physical % Complete†column, the values from the Detail Tasks do not
correctly roll-up to the Summary Task. For example, I have nine Detail tasks
beneath a Summary Task. When I specify that six of the Detail Tasks are 100%
complete, the Summary Task should calculate to show a value of about 67%.
Instead, it shows a value of 100%. Any ideas?
Also, not all sub-Summary Tasks are rolling-up to their parent Summary
Tasks. For example, I enter “Physical % Complete†values in the Detail Tasks
of a sub-Summary Task which roll-up (albeit incorrectly) to the sub-Summary
Task. However, the “Physical % Complete†value in that sub-Summary Task does
not roll-up at all to its parent Summary Task. Again, any ideas?
